Hello, we are Kevin & Matthew from San Diego, California. We appreciate your interest in getting to know more about us and considering us as adoptive parents for your child. We are a fun, loving and family focused married couple who would love to raise an amazing child in a very caring environment with lots of opportunity to thrive.

After many happy years of being together and both coming from close large families, we have dreamed about starting our own family through adoption. We have so much love towards each other and so much more love to give. We promise to share this love with your child and help them grow in a fun loving and close family environment.

We met through a dating app in 2016 where we spent 2 months getting to know each other before deciding to meet in person. The chemistry was instant like we had already known each other for years. We spent our first date sitting on the couch talking about our families, friends, and hobbies where we immediately knew our shared passion for adventure. This includes many outdoor activities like hiking, playing sports, and travel. Matthew was just changing jobs in the medical field and Kevin was in the second half of college at San Diego State University. It was the perfect time to build a strong support system with each other that would lead to the perfect foundation for a lifetime of memories.

While the youngest of just two, I grew up with several cousins and friends that were just like siblings and enjoyed a happy childhood in San Jose, California. Our neighborhood was located close to the hills and lakes around the city so I started my love for adventures and exploring.

My parents had a strong relationship and taught me to be responsible, kind and to chase my dreams. I was a good student and during college, I was fortunate enough to go on a Semester at Sea, study abroad program where I sailed around the world with 500 other students! Always one for adventure, I loved this experience, seeing other countries and learning about the world.

I now work on a management team for a healthcare artificial intelligence company. We bring amazing technologies to hospitals to help treat emergency patients faster so they can recover from serious conditions. It is rewarding to know our products help doctors to save people's lives. I work from home with a very flexible schedule.

Through my work in the medical technology field, our travels, trying new foods, mountain biking and other outdoor activities, I love new exciting experiences.

Matthew is ambitious, kind, and loving to say the least. When we met in person for the first time, being the gentleman that he is, he asked for consent if he could kiss me. It was in that moment that I knew he had a beautiful, kind soul that I knew I wanted to spend and grow my life with. That little moment of consent spoke to his character as a person and was a key point in my wedding vows to him. He takes pride in his relationship with others and seeks to grow depth and liveliness to the relationships he develops. He knows my love for the ocean and marine life that he even quoted my favorite movie, The Little Mermaid, in his wedding vows to me. His ambition to be kind and noble let me know that he is going to be an amazing husband and father that will always point our kids and those in our life in the right direction.

While being the timid middle child, you would never know it by the way I acted. I was varsity swim and water polo captain in high school, was voted Homecoming King, and spent the weekends going to the movie theater with all 4 of my brothers. I kept active and engaged in both my studies and my social life. Being studious, I started college at the University of California Irvine, after graduating ranked 19 out 500+ students in my high school class. Life interrupted school and I took an 8 year gap to help my family before I returned to college and finished with my Bachelors in business degree from San Diego State.

I now work in HR where I help families across the nation employ in-home caregivers. My office is about a mile from home and I work 3 days in the office and 2 days at home. This arrangement allows me to be at home as needed and the flexibility to coordinate schedules with Matthew around raising our child.

My friends would say my kindness and ambition are the yin and yang that propel me forward. Now I work as an HR professional and I help others by employing caregivers who provided services in the home.

Kevin is a very caring, smart, and big hearted person. This is why I love him and the life we are building together. He was the first in his family to complete college and he graduated magna cum laude (top tier of his class) while working through school to pay for it all himself. He is the one his family and friends call for advice and love.

He still balances his ambition with the biggest of hearts, which is reflected in his love for animals. Our two small dogs (Lilly and Oia) are family!

Combined with his love for water, Kevin is always wanting to go to the beach, to swim, paddle board or to one of the aquariums. I look forward to the day when I get to see Kevin take our future child to their first aquarium visit!

Kevin is such a reliable, selfless and loving friend and family member for those in his life. I am so excited to share being a dad with him and bring that care, responsibility and love to a lucky child.

San Diego (California) is a fun place with plenty of sunshine to keep us busy outdoors and at the coast year round. You can often find us out at Mission Bay paddle boarding, hiking one of the many trails in our area, or riding our beach cruisers along the coast. We love animal life so a San Diego Zoo membership is a must in our house. The zoo is also located in Balboa Park, a San Diego staple, that is full of museums and community events that we are excited to share with our future child. When we are in more of a mellow mood, we will settle indoors where we enjoy playing board games together, or maintaining and admiring our salt water fish tank.

We love to travel too. While Matthew was in college, he had an opportunity to do a study abroad program called Semester at Sea and traveled around the world on a ship in 100 days and saw 11 different countries! This was his first time outside the USA and it kicked off his love for travel. Kevin grew up doing several road trips with his family and also has a passion for seeing new places. Together, we have seen additional countries and plan to see more once our child is the right age to appreciate these new experiences!

We love living in our coastal, Southern California city of San Diego where we are known to have an endless summer. Our neighborhood, called University Heights doesn't actually have a university at all, but is home to a very nice community where we are close friends with neighbors in several of the houses on our street. We regularly interact with our neighbors, whether it's running into them during our morning dog walks or saying hi to the kids playing outside after school.

Our neighborhood includes several different experiences, such as our favorite ice cream shop, which uses ingredients grown by the local elementary school students. We are also just a walk away from Trolleybarn Park where you can find families having picnics, bringing kids to the playground or enjoying summer neighborhood concerts. Great parks, great neighbors, and great schools make our neighborhood a desirable place to raise a family.

We have built such a close community here that our neighbors and friends (Tony and Dave) shared their adoption experience with us and inspired us for our family journey.

Planning to expand our family, we knew we needed more space in our home. So, we took on a project to double the size of our house! This was a big project to add two bedrooms, a living room and tie into our back yard. We are happy with our larger home and know it will be a great place for a child to live and grow up.

We both have an intense love for animals! If Kevin could have his way, we would own a zoo! Our two dogs, Lilly and Oia (Eeh-Ah), definitely keep us on our toes! Who would have thought that a 4 lb Maltese and an 8 lb Morkie could carry such huge and sweet personalities. They love their treats, they love to cuddle, and they love new friends. They especially love when their cousins, our nieces and nephews, come to visit and play. Lilly and Oia will make great companions to your child!

We both have a great friend group and amazing families that have merged together and have shared in the excitement and encouragement of our adoption path. These relationships we have get us excited to be able to have our child grow and build in these bonds and experiences. We have a great support group with lots of love to share as we take on our parenting journey.

We couldn't be more happy and proud to bring our child into such a warm and welcoming group of people we refer to as family.

Holidays are a fun and exciting tradition! Since both our families are local, we get to have double the holidays each year. Our favorite is Christmas as our mini road trip begins and we drive an hour north to Kevin's family to stay the night and celebrate Christmas Eve. The following day we drive back south towards home where we stop to celebrate Christmas day with Matthew's family. Preparing and eating Mexican food on Kevin's side and Greek food on Matthew's is one of our favorite traditions to share each year.

Being raised in large, close families, our desire to grow our family is fueled by the closeness we share with them every day. We hope to raise your child in a warm, loving environment, and promise to show them what unconditional love truly means. This starts with sharing their adoption story and how your love, courage and strength created our family.
