Dear Birth Mother...
Why We Are Adopting
We are embracing the beautiful journey of adoption because our hearts are overflowing with love and a strong desire to provide a nurturing home. The joy of creating a loving family, filled with laughter, growth, and shared moments is what truly excites us. We’re thrilled to embark on this path, eager to offer a warm and caring environment where your child can thrive and flourish.
About Us
We believe in the power of teamwork, open communication, and shared dreams. We first met in 2012 on Facebook and decided to meet in person for drinks. We spoke about our common love for food, travel, the great outdoors, cooking, cars, and fashion. After that evening we knew we had found someone special, and we've been together ever since. After a few years together, Patrick gathered all of our friends for an ice skating event and surprised Rodrigo by getting down on one knee during what was supposed to be a group photo. Two years later, surrounded by our friends and family, we were married in an extremely picturesque wedding set at the art deco Belle Isle Casino in Detroit. Our journey is one rooted in love. We cherish exploring new places, savoring diverse cuisines, and embracing different cultures during our travels. We are so excited to be able to share our joy for life with our future child!

About Patrick, by Patrick
Hi! I’m Patrick! I was born and raised here in the metro Detroit area. I grew up in the suburbs and went to public schools. In my early years, I was raised with my sister, as well as 3 other cousins. We would spend holidays and birthdays as a family. We would play outside and make great memories that I still cherish today. I loved the outdoors and would ride my bike everywhere. Music was something I enjoyed listening to. For college, I went to Oakland University here in Michigan. I studied to become a nurse because I am caring and love to take care of people. I work at multiple hospitals as an emergency nurse and have a fairly flexible schedule. I am most excited about creating lasting memories with our future child by sharing our love of travel and the great outdoors with them. I am looking forward to sharing our belief that love makes a family and watch them grow into their own unique individual.
More About Patrick, by Rodrigo
Patrick is a wonderful husband. He is a very social person and thrives when networking. One of the reasons I fell in love with him is his ability to stay positive. His ability to care and love unconditionally is also uncanny, especially when we are having deep conversations. In our home, his domain is the interior of the house. From purchasing items that go with the aesthetic and also placement. He’s also keen on tidying up and cleanliness. Health is also a focus in his daily life. Eating good food with minimal fast-food consumption. He is also very practical, mindful, and nurturing. I know these attributes will be an important asset when we are parents. I am so excited to build our family together.
About Rodrigo, by Rodrigo
Hi! I’m Rodrigo! I was born in the Philippines. I had a great childhood with my parents, Florence and Rodrigo, and my younger sister, Lauren. We lived in compounds, so cousins and family were always around. My aunt even took care of my sister and I when my parents were busy with work. My mother taught me the value of family and my father taught me how to cook and the importance of staying active. After elementary school we moved from the Philippines to Bloomfield, New Jersey! I enjoyed basketball, singing, and was the captain of my school’s chess team. After graduation, I returned to the Philippines to attend college, but would then return to the United States in 2005. I am currently working for a Major U.S. Airline as a flight attendant. I love my career very much and it has given us many opportunities, not just travel, but life events as well. I have a flexible schedule which will allow me plenty of time to be a present father. As a father, I am most looking forward to teaching our future child how to be resilient and independent, as well as knowing that we will always be there for them during life’s ups and downs. I believe children reflect their upbringing and I hope to raise our child to be an advocate of their culture and to exhibit social sensitivity.
More About Rodrigo, by Patrick
Rodrigo is a very caring and considerate husband. He was very supportive and encouraging while I was earning my degree in nursing. He wouldn’t let me give up even when I wanted to. Because of this, I know he will be positive and caring father to our future child throughout their life. Our friends have always said how “real” he can be. I love and respect him so much for being an honest and trustworthy person. Our future child will be so lucky to experience his love for cooking. My absolute favorite dish he makes is chicken fettuccine and chicken parmesan. He somehow knows how to take any recipe and make it uniquely his. As much as we enjoy being outside and exercising, we also like to take the time to enjoy our home together by reading in our backyard or watching our favorite movie Mean Girls and White Chicks, in our living room. We find balance in being active and also remembering to take the time to relax.

Our Home and Community
We are fortunate to have wonderful neighbors who are also raising young families of their own. Our house is located just outside of Detroit, in the city of Lincoln Park, Michigan. This ideal location will allow us to take our future child on adventures in nature, as well as trips to the city to visit museums, science centers, and zoos! We also enjoy the summertime on the shoreline where we host dinner parties for our family and friends. In the winter we take pride in our holiday decorations, and of course love having guests over to share in the holiday cheer and delicious food. We also believe in sitting down together in our dining room for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We enjoy finding out about the other’s day. Good or bad, we are here for each other, and communication is key to our happy home life.
Meet Roxy
She has been all over the United States, traveling with us exploring. She enjoys hiking and just being out in the wild. She enjoys playing with children and is very gentle with them. Our niece calls her Bingo from the show Bluey. It’s adorable! When someone is sick, she will cuddle and not leave your side. She just has that instinct.
Our Family
Patrick: My mom is a retired Registered Nurse that specialized in neonatal care and is well versed in infant care. My dad is retired from the automotive industry, loves to garden and being handy around the house. My sister is a Chiropractor and is practicing in Roswell, Georgia. She has a 3 year old child with her partner and is expecting a second child soon. My side of the family enjoys staying indoors and getting together. Shopping and going out to eat is something they frequently do as a family.
Rodrigo: My mom is also a retired nurse that specialized in renal care. My dad is a retired CNA and is now managing the land and businesses my parent's have in the Philippines. My sister is a Registered Nurse, lives and practices in Denver, Colorado. My side of the family loves travel and sight seeing. When both of our families get together for a gathering, we love to whip up a feast so we can all break bread and converse. We all usually end up watching a movie or singing karaoke. During the holidays our sisters love to play piano for our families, and we've been known to jump in for a little duet!

- Family: We will always speak of your brave choices and how your love for your child created our family

- Teamwork: We are in this journey together as a family, forever!

Thank you so much. We appreciate the time you took to learn a little about us. It would be a great honor to become your child's adoptive parents, and we will do everything we can to raise them with the best opportunities possible.
