We're Ophir and Agnieszka from Topanga, California. We’re hopeful that you will choose us as adoptive parents for your child. We can only begin to imagine what a huge decision this is and it is an honor to be considered by you. We’ve been married for eight years and over that time we have created a warm, loving home with four dogs and a cat. We dream of having a child (and ultimately, perhaps, two or three) to love, cherish and care for. We both feel that we are in the perfect place physically, mentally, spiritually and financially to grow our family.

We’re glad and grateful we have a chance to grow our family soon. Thank you! The reason we want to adopt is our inability to get pregnant. We have been happy and fulfilled in our life together and have been thinking about adoption for some time now. We strongly feel that the time has come for us to share our life and love with a child and we believe that adoption is the right path for us to do so.

We met in 2015 when Agnieszka was visiting Los Angeles from Poland and happened to drop into a yoga class where Ophir was a regular. We went out on a few dates but no sparks flew - Agnieszka went back to Poland and we both thought that was that. Ten months later Agnieszka returned on another visit and we reconnected. This time it was clear to both of us that we did not want to be apart and Agnieszka agreed to move to California. We married six months later and have built a wonderful life together. Today we live in Topanga, a peaceful mountain community outside of Los Angeles. We have a magical home, a strong loving marriage and we walk together on the path of mindfulness, yoga and meditation.

First, at city hall to make it legal and official. Second, in our garden with all of our friends and family officiated by our yoga teacher (thanks to whom we met). Third, in Israel where our Israeli and Polish families had a chance to meet each other. Fourth, alone in the mountains - with God as our witness. Fifth, At Burning Man, just for fun.

My childhood was shaped by my parents' strong faith in Jesus Christ and the Church. As a teenager I rebelled against my parents' strict rules and went through all kinds of crazy experiences. In my early 20's I kept myself busy studying, working and being social but I found myself looping on the same harmful behavioral patterns. A process of significant change started with learning mindfulness and self-compassion techniques. I became better aware of my thoughts and the mind-body connection. Yoga had a miraculous effect on my life. I started traveling around the world gathering knowledge from different teachers and achieving my yoga teacher certifications. During my trip to the United States, I met Ophir. The decision to leave my life in Poland and to move all-in with Ophir to become his wife was a bit scary, but I was ready and excited for that step, much as I am now to become an adoptive mother.

Agnieszka is my favorite person in the world. She’s kind, funny, beautiful inside and out, and very loving. She loves animals and nature. Agnieszka is introspective and honest with herself and about herself. One of the things I most admire about her is her will and ability to see herself clearly and honestly and work to make positive changes. It’s an inspiring trait. I know that Agnieszka will be a great mom and I’m truly excited for us to raise a child together. We have a lot to give. We balance each other out really well. I’m ground and Agnieszka is air. I’m goal oriented - Agnieszka reminds me to slow down and appreciate the beauty around me. I like stability and routine - Agnieszka inspires me to try new things and embrace change.

I was born in Israel. My family moved to Michigan when I was six years old. I would describe myself as intelligent, self-disciplined, loyal, honest and gentle. I’m serious but I like to laugh and have a good sense of humor. I’m a non-practicing lawyer and have spent my career as an entrepreneur building our family business. In my 20’s and 30’s I was very ambitious, hard working and career-focused. In the last few years, my career has become less important to me - I am more focused on family life, spiritual and personal development, and doing things I truly enjoy like spending time with Agnieszka and our lovely pets, traveling and camping. I’m very excited to become a father - I feel that I am in the perfect place in my life to do it - I’m more comfortable in my own skin, more focused on the important things in life and more present. I have the time and the energy to fully devote myself to fatherhood and family-building.

Ophir is an amazing man who over the years has proven himself to be reliable, responsible and faithful. He’s down to earth, realistic and wise which makes him a great advisor. Ophir’s persistence, discipline and humility shows in everything he does. He’s loving, giving, forgiving and so much fun to be around. Ophir is also a great chef - he cooks yummy Mediterranean cuisine and I take much joy assisting and learning from him. Things I love About Ophir: I love that he’s devoted to his yoga and meditation practice. I appreciate our conversations, travels, all the time we’ve been given together - he’s become my best friend and someone I choose to grow old with.

We love being at home. We practice yoga and meditation daily. We read books, watch movies, eat healthy and take our dogs on hikes in the local mountains. We enjoy traveling, taking road trips and finding gorgeously secluded camp sites. Our bucket list includes trips to India and Japan, a road trip to Alaska and scuba diving in Australia.

Topanga is a tight-knit community - we know our neighbors by name. We have a local post office, library, farmer's market and a general store. We are a 15 minute drive from the beach and 25 minutes from the city of Santa Monica and the West Los Angeles area. Our house is perfect for kids. We have a pickle ball court, a pool and lots of space to run around. The schools in Topanga are great and the community is eclectic, warm and supportive. We have four dogs, Bosca, Arrow, Misty and Shlomo and a cat, Panko. They're really sweet, fairly well-trained and love to play. Our dogs are great with kids! With our niece’s help we temporarily colored Shlomo’s hair. He looked great and it brought a lot of smiles and joy to our friends and neighbors! We got a beehive for our wedding anniversary and started learning how to keep bees. Hopefully we will enjoy some yummy honey from our garden’s flowers sometime soon. Agnieszka makes sure that all of the pollinators in our yard, including butterflies and hummingbirds, have plenty of flowers. It’s a pleasure to see our garden grow more beautiful every year.

Agnieszka: My parents live happily in Gdansk, Poland and I talk to them weekly. They have an active lifestyle. I have a good relationship with my brother and sister, both of whom are married. My sister has four children. I occasionally travel to Poland to see my family and they have visited us in Topanga. My nephews and nieces love our dogs! My mom visits us often. My sister and mother are wonderful parents and I know they will be a great help to me when I need them. I’m lucky to have their ear and support whenever I need it.

Ophir: My father passed away 20 years ago. I still miss him. My mom spends part of her time here in Los Angeles and part of her time in Israel. I have a younger brother who lives in the San Francisco area with his lovely wife and three kids. My two nieces are 25 and 21 and my nephew is six. We are very close and I love spending time with them. Most of the rest of my extended family is in Israel (aunts, uncles, cousins etc) and I visit them occasionally. I also have extended family spread around the US, in Brazil and in the Netherlands.

We celebrate both Christian and Jewish holidays but do not consider ourselves religious. We like the warmth and family values that these traditions provide. We’re excited to share our native languages and traditions with our future child. We have no interest in forcing any particular belief system or dogma on anyone - our goal is to provide our child with rich experiences and different perspectives.

We promise to give our future kids everything they need and provide them with the space to discover who they are and what brings them happiness. We want to teach them the joys of discipline and hard work and how to fulfill goals; how to overcome fear, embrace failure and celebrate success. Most importantly we want to teach them how to be good people - to be generous and kind, to care for others, to be a light onto the world. We are very open to an open adoption process. Our commitment is to always do what is best for the child.
