Hello! We are Mike and Corrie from San Diego, California. We know that your journey so far has not been an easy one and we value you and your courage to consider an adoption plan for your child. We are humbled by this amazing opportunity to pour our love and lives into a special human being.
Even though we have not been able to have children biologically, we still have a strong desire to parent and bring a child into our family. Thank you for taking the time to get to know us!
We first met through a close mutual friend. Our love of the outdoors brought us closer together, and our love grew stronger from that point on! We enjoy traveling, hiking, and taking adventure trips together in our camper van. Many of our memories together are doing what we love most, being outside enjoying the beautiful sights and sounds of nature…our peaceful place. We look forward to including our future child in all of our outdoor adventures!
Over the past 14 years of our marriage, we have invested in family, friends, travel, and life.
We have been so grateful to have such a supportive family and friend community, including our local church, to surround us along life's journey. We are fortunate to have both our parents living close by and want them to have a strong relationship with our future child.
Since the first day I met Corrie, she has always had a caring and compassionate heart for people. I’m not surprised she became a nurse because she is so gifted at helping others in need with gentleness and love. I also love that she has deep and lasting friendships with her closest friends that goes beyond the surface and last a lifetime.
I love her adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors. One of our favorite things to do since we began dating is to go hiking, camping, and exploring the mountains. We even got engaged on the trail at one of our favorite spots in our local mountains!
In our marriage she has always been such an encourager and supporter of me and my pursuits. I also love watching Corrie interact with children. They love to be around her because she has such a gentle and joyful spirit. She will be an amazing mother to our future child!
The first thing I noticed about Mike were his kind eyes and his height! His kindness is a special quality that he spreads to those he interacts with. The second thing that I quickly learned about him is that he has an incredible sense of humor!
Mike’s creativity amazes me. Whether it’s creating beautiful ambiance for a gathering in our home or building something for our house, he never leaves a single detail out.
As a marriage partner, he is incredibly supportive of all my ambitions and has enabled me to be a better person because of his commitment to me as a person and spouse, as well as his caring heart toward others. His dream has always been to have a family of his own and I have already been a witness to what an amazing father he will be through his interactions with friends and family!
We are fortunate to live in a neighborhood that is within walking distance to kid parks, a hiking and lake park, schools, restaurants, and coffee shops. We also have an inviting and spacious backyard where a future child can explore and run free.
We both grew up going to the beach and the mountains with our families and luckily they are both just a short 30-minute drive from our house. We chose our home because our neighborhood is very family friendly, and we felt safe here. We also love our neighbors and enjoy helping each other out with various needs including swapping vegetables, pet sitting, borrowing tools, etc. We enjoy traveling but always look forward to coming back home!
We have three pets who we love! Scout, our dog, is 4 years old and we got her as a puppy. She is a border collie and cattle dog mix. Scout loves playing with kids, running on the beach and mountain trails, tummy rubs, and french fries.
Kitty, our Cat, showed up in our backyard and decided to stay! We have had her for 7 years. She loves food, taking cat naps on the couch, and lap cuddles during cold winters.
Bo Jasper, our Holland Lop rabbit, is just 1 year old and enjoys hopping around his enclosure, eating, and ear rubs.
Spending quality time with our families and friends is very important to us. We enjoy shared meals, activities, and supporting each other in everyday life!
Mike's parents, Ron and Connie live just a short drive away where he grew up with his older sister, Amy. She currently lives in Colorado with her husband, Jerry, and three daughters. We both enjoy traveling to Colorado to spend time together. We get together with Mike’s parents regularly to share a meal together and/or play board games.
Corrie’s parents, Gary and Carolyn and sister, Caren along with her two teenage children, Lilly and Judah live about an hour away in a beautiful rural community. Corrie’s brother, Barry and his wife, Pola, also live close by. Our visits usually center around FOOD with delicious meals and desserts, and countryside walks. Our support system also includes good friends and their families from our church who also live close by.

We commit to love your child unconditionally. We promise to teach him or her to love others with words and acts of kindness. We also want them to learn to work hard in life but also enjoy it to its fullest! We hope to guide them as they learn practical skills and build characteristics of integrity as they grow each year. We desire to be parents who guide, interact and include our child in our family, neighborhood, and church communities.
