We are excited to share a bit of ourselves with you! Our hope is to walk this path together, supporting you in every way we can. We are Daniel and Ruben and we have been together for 6 years and married for 1 year. Lucky to call sunny Southern California home, we soak in the magic of Disneyland, discover hidden culinary gems, and enjoy quality time with family and friends. As a couple, we love experiences that bring variety and connection to our lives. Ever since we established ourselves as a couple, adoption has been a topic that has been talked about a lot. We both have envisioned ourselves as dads and would be overjoyed at the chance to raise a child. Adoption is not unfamiliar to us. Daniel’s father was adopted as a child. He was loved by his adoptive mother unconditionally and grew up to be a great husband, the best dad, friend and grandpa. Also, Daniel’s brother Nicholas and husband Shawn adopted twins who we love so much, Nora and Smith. Having the opportunity to see the process and the outcomes of adoption has reinforced our decision to adopt as a couple. We look forward to raising our child in a home full of creativity, love and laughter!

Ruben is the most kind and creative (he designed this entire profile himself!) person I’ve met. He has taught me a lot about how to value my feelings, communicate openly, and go after what I truly want in life. He may not describe himself as this but he is the caretaker in our home. He makes sure that Ollie and I have eaten, are healthy and most of all happy. He has an eye for design and has contributed to every corner of our home. He is a good friend who is loyal, funny, caring and thoughtful. He is the best travel partner who does all his research beforehand. He definitely will know where to go to have fun and eat delicious food. Not only is he a great husband, but he is also a great Uncle to our niece and nephew, Nora and Smith. He enjoys spending time listening to what they have learned in school, watching their favorite shows with them, and making any time spent together very fun! I have no doubt that Ruben is going to be a great Dad who will teach our child to be kind, creative, thoughtful and overall a great person.

Ask anyone to describe Daniel and they will most likely think of his kindness. But as his husband, I get to know him in a way that goes beyond that, and it means a lot to me. Daniel always wants the best for his loved ones, works hard, and is passionate about his interests. When life throws curve balls, Daniel is always able to roll with the punches and move forward. Daniel’s resilience and flexibility always amazes me. He values fun and experiences it with pure joy. If Daniel is vibing with the music, he will get out on the dancefloor and dance like nobody's watching. When we go to Disneyland, Daniel will ride the thrill rides and exit with a big smile on his face. Whether it's playing an intense board game with friends, going to watch a new movie, or just make time to go grab some dessert after dinner, he makes sure to make time in life for fun activities. As a father, I imagine him taking our child on their first roller coaster, climbing the jungle gym, and going down the water slide with them. The arcade will be a place where the two of them spend hours together. And when our child wants to play a board game, Daniel will be the perfect opponent. Even with all his amazing qualities, I feel lucky to witness how this next chapter will help him grow even more.

Ollie unexpectedly came into our lives when she was a kitten. We found her hiding under the front of our house when we kept hearing her cry. After a couple of weeks, we realized that we either had to take her in or take her to the Humane Society. Though we had no experience with pets, as neither of us had grown up with any, we decided to take her in and began our cat journey together. Ollie loves new bedsheets, comfy blankets, and warm sun. She loves fresh Tuna and can smell it from across the room. She is a big scaredy-cat when she is around strangers and will hide whenever someone even steps on our porch. But when she is in her comfort zone she becomes a cuddly baby. Ollie’s quirky personality always keeps us entertained, especially when she surprises us with her human-like behaviors. We call her our ‘Little Black Panther’ because, like the Marvel hero, she’s smooth, sneaky, and always surprising us. In a way she is our first adopted child and we love her so much. Ollie unlocked a part of our hearts we didn’t know we had and became the baby of our home.

In 2019, we met on a dating app. After feeling pretty over the dating scene, we kept our first date simple with dinner at Chili’s. What we didn’t expect was a three-hour conversation over margaritas that would change everything—and the rest was history. Fast forward to 2023, we tied the knot under the big tree in our yard, surrounded by our closest family and friends. We’re a young, energetic couple who visit Disneyland frequently and travel as much as possible. We also enjoy festive and cultural adventures such as exploring a new museum, trying a new restaurant, and attending a concert by one of our favorite artists. Our network of best friends and family is an important part of our lives, and our calendars are always filled with time spent together. We embrace our Latino culture in our daily lives, and our family keeps us deeply connected to those traditions. Whether we’re at a family gathering, hanging out with friends, or enjoying a quiet night in watching The Real Housewives or a documentary with our cat, Ollie, we love spending time with the people who matter most.

Our home is a Craftsman built in 1912 in Ontario, California. We love our home for its historic charm on the outside and the cozy, modern interior that we renovated with so much love. We’re close to beaches, mountains, and just 30 minutes from Disneyland. Our large yards are filled with green grass, where we dream of seeing our child play one day. A big tree with a tire swing stands in our front yard—the first time we saw it, we imagined our child swinging on it. We love opening our home to family and friends, hosting BBQs, dinner parties, and even our wedding right in the front yard. Opening up our home to others keeps it filled with love and warmth. Just a block away, our historic downtown is growing with new spots. One of our favorites is Mestiza, a Latina-owned bakery that made our wedding cake. We’re excited to raise a child in this diverse neighborhood that embraces culture, family, and fun.

We both come from large, close-knit Mexican families. Both sides are very supportive and excited to meet our future child! Daniel’s parents are retired, live 15 minutes away, and often stop by when they're in the area. His Brother’s family also live nearby and further extended family all live within a 30 minute radius. Ruben’s Mom and Sister live an hour away in Escondido, CA, and we visit frequently. Sadly, his father passed away in 2022 but we will ensure our child knows about their loving Grandfather. Ruben also has a big extended family, and we cherish the time we spend with them throughout the year.

Meet twins Nora and Smith, both 6 years old and excited to welcome their new cousin! Nora is the life of the party outgoing, super caring, and always ready to dance or sing her favorite songs. Smith, on the other hand, is a shy and gentle spirit with a big heart and an even bigger collection of Monster Trucks. While Nora’s leading the dance floor, Smith will probably be teaching his future cousin how to play baseball. Together, they are the perfect pair of cousins to make every moment fun and special!

We are so thankful and lucky to have a great group of friends that shower us with so much love and support! Our small, close-knit group of friends is something we truly value. We know we can count on each other, and we’re always there for them as they are for us. Daniel has been best friends with Natalie and Kristin since their sophomore year of high school. They have been tight since they first met and Daniel lovingly calls the group, the three musketeers. The three musketeers have always shown up for each other at every important milestone, supporting one another through it all. Auntie Natalie will most likely show our child how to lead with confidence and order like a pro at a restaurant. Auntie Kristin would show our future child to embrace their inner silliness and just laugh. Aunties Natalie and Kristin can’t wait to be blessed with another nephew! Ruben has two best friends, Lauryn and Aaron, whom he met in high school. After 18 years, they’re more like family, with a bond that can’t be broken. Their significant others fit in seamlessly, creating a great dynamic for group activities. The “Fun Dads” jokingly call Ruben, Lauryn, and Aaron the “Mean Moms” for being the responsible ones—though, funny enough, it’s usually the “dads” who have trouble keeping up. This tight-knit crew does everything together, from camping and game nights to vacations, always there for each other through life’s ups and downs, including the exciting adventure of adoption.

Our goal is to create a stable, loving environment where our child feels supported in their individuality, creativity, and well-being. We want them to not just live, but thrive, knowing they are loved for exactly who they are. We look forward to nurturing their unique interests and guiding them as they grow into the person they’re meant to be. Mental health and wellness are important to us, and we’ll provide the tools and support they need to thrive. Our close relationships with nieces and nephews have given us valuable experience and deepened our desire to raise a child of our own. We believe our dedication, love, and strong family ties will help us be the best parents we can be.

Our promise to you is that your child will always know their roots—you will always be the foundation of their story. We promise to provide a home filled with love, acceptance, and nurturing. We understand how much thought and love you are putting into this, and we want you to know that we deeply respect and support you. We are so happy to be on this adoption journey.
