We are Molly & Jill. We live in Elk Grove, California with our daughter, Josephine (aka "Joey"). We are honored that you are taking the time to get to know us. Words cannot express our feelings about adoption and we respect both your courage and bravery with this choice. We recognize the weight of this decision and see adoption as a beautiful act of genuine love for your child. We both knew that starting a family was in our future together and Jill had always expressed the desire to be a resource family/foster parent. After struggling with infertility issues, we became licensed foster parents and met our daughter when she was just 2 days old. We were blessed to be able to officially adopt her when she was 16 months old. We know that we have so much more love to give and growing our family through private adoption this time means everything to us.
Dear Birth Mother
About Us
We met in January of 2012 after connecting through an online dating website. Our first date was at Starbucks and lasted over 8 hours! Falling in love was effortless and easy, like our souls had known each other our whole lives. On May 23rd of 2014 Jill proposed to Molly on a beautiful day on the beach in Monterey, California. We were so excited to be engaged and quickly began planning our wedding for October of 2016. One of our favorite things to do together is take road trips to the beach while listening to some 90’s country music. Making each other laugh and having fun is our superpower. Jill’s sense of humor and ability to live in the moment is a perfect mix with Molly’s down-to-earth personality and a focus on building our future.

About Molly
I grew up in a rural town about 45 minutes outside of Sacramento, California. The small-town environment where I grew up instilled a sense of community and family that is still very important to me. As a child, I was described as caring and nurturing, and would be the person my friends would go to for support. This sparked a passion for helping others that led me to my current career as a Marriage and Family Therapist. One of my greatest achievements is my education. I am very proud to have graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Sacramento State University before earning my Master’s Degree at National University. One of my favorite family activities is spending time outdoors and doing art with Joey. I love watching her experience the world and use her imagination during our playtime. I cannot wait to share these experiences with another child as well.
Molly's Career
I currently own a private practice specializing in working with couples and families. I love being self-employed as this allows me to work from home and create my own schedule so that I can spend more time with Jill, Joey and our future child.
More About Molly, by Jill
When I met Molly, I knew she was a strong woman, dedicated to caring for the people she loves. From early on in our relationship I saw the desire in Molly to become a mother. When Joey came into our life, watching Molly care for a newborn for the first time, seemed to come naturally to her; she is nurturing and patient. One of the first things I loved about Molly was her ability to overcome any obstacle to accomplish her goals.

About Jill
I was born in Sacramento and grew up in rural Elk Grove. This environment was such a positive influence on my childhood. Spending time with my siblings on our 2-acre property are some of my favorite childhood memories. Family is such a big part of my life. I loved spending time with my extended family and helped take care of my cousins at a young age. This inspired me to want to work with children, and more importantly to be a parent. One of the great things about my family is the fun new adventures we take together! We love going on walks to the park, visiting the zoo and having a fun day at the beach.
Jill's Career
I have worked in childcare for over 12 years and have owned my own in-home childcare for over 4 years. Owning my own business has been one of my greatest achievements and has provided me with the privilege to be home with Joey.
More About Jill, by Molly
Jill is the most caring, loving and supportive person I have ever known. Her warmth and kindness to everyone she meets is one of the reasons I couldn’t help but fall in love with her. Jill has worked in childcare for the entire time I have known her, so I’ve witnessed her care and compassion for children. When Joey came into our life, I knew Jill would be an amazing parent. She is patient, nurturing and loving, all while giving our daughter the space to be herself and explore the world. I admire Jill’s commitment to her work and the pride she takes in being a parent. I consider myself extremely lucky to have her in my life, and I cannot wait for us to grow our family.

Meet Joey
Joey is such an incredible girl! She is brave, beautiful, kind, smart and strong, and we tell her this every night! Joey is also inquisitive, smart and fierce. She loves playing with her friends (affectionately referred to as “the guys”) and snuggling with our pets. Joey loves to read, play outside with Papa (Jill) and play blocks with Mama (Molly). Her favorite foods are buttered pasta and blueberries. Whenever we ask Joey if she wants to be a big sister her face lights up! We know she would love a sibling to grow up with and we can’t wait to see her fall in love with her little brother or sister.

Our Home and Community
We live in an amazing neighborhood in Elk Grove, California. We are just down the street from Elk Grove Park, a beautiful 122-acre park that hosts many community events and sporting activities. One of the things we love about Elk Grove is the safe suburban feel all while being just a short drive from the city and our families. Our home is filled with toys, laughter and music. We have daily dance parties and get to enjoy the always nice California weather outside in our backyard on our play structure. Elk Grove has one of the leading school districts in the nation and we live 3 blocks away from an amazing elementary school we hope to send our children to.
Our Family and Friends
Family is extremely important to us and we are extraordinarily lucky to have both sides of our family nearby to spend time with. Molly’s parents, Matt & Cindy, still live in the town Molly grew up in, only a short drive from home. Molly’s sisters, Melanie and Ayla, also live in their home-town raising their children. Joey has 3 cousins on Molly’s side of the family, and she loves visiting with them and playing at her Gaga’s house. Jill’s father, Richard, along with her brother Jordan, live in Elk Grove as well. The support of Jill’s mother, Donna (aka Grammy), is amazing, especially when we first became parents. Our family is so excitedly hopeful that they may be able to provide unconditional love to your child as our family grows.
Favorite Family Traditions
- Holidays - One of our favorite family traditions is our combined Christmas celebration every Christmas Eve. Having both of our families together and celebrating is very magical to us.
- Camping - Jill’s family loves to camp every summer. Spending time outdoors with them is a tradition that we wouldn’t miss!
- Game Night - Molly’s family tries to plan a game night at least once a month where they all get together and enjoy a meal and games.
In Closing
We are honored and grateful to be considered as your child’s adoptive family. As their family, we promise to love your child unconditionally and provide a life full of laughter and love. We believe it is so important for everyone to know where they came from, and we promise to share your child’s adoption story with them, so they know how extremely brave and caring their birth mother is.
