Hi! We are Jules and Matt along with our daughter, Ava. We live in Redondo Beach, California. We cannot begin to express our gratitude to you! We are in awe and inspired by your courage and bravery in considering adoption.

Family has always been a huge part of both of our lives growing up and we can’t wait to grow our family yet again!

After struggles with fertility, we adopted our daughter Ava in 2021 and our lives were forever changed in the most magical way. We have a wonderful relationship with Ava’s Birth Mom and send photos and texts to each other regularly. We are blessed to have this open line of communication and hope we can have the same type of relationship with you! We are so excited to go through the adoption process again and we hope this gives you some insight into our lives as a family.

We first met after swiping right on Bumble, and had our first date at a cute little restaurant where Los Angeles meets the beach. While the conversation was great and we had fun, the service was terrible and we couldn’t help but laugh about it. After a year of dating, Matt pulled off the perfect proposal, popping the question behind home plate at Dodger stadium, (we are huge Dodger fans).

In 2019 we were married in a quiet little beach town near Santa Barbara that we had fallen in love with. We have been inseparable ever since. We are best friends, and soulmates!

A few years later we were blessed with the adoption of our beautiful daughter, Ava. We love spending time at the beach playing in the sand, swinging at the park, and saying hi to the fish at the local aquarium.

I was born in Dublin, Ireland and moved to Pasadena, California, as a young child. I grew up playing every sport that the schools and parks had to offer and most weekends were spent in my backyard pool playing with my brother and friends. During the summer my family would head to the beach and I would spend hours in the sand and water, playing games and building castles. I earned my degree in psychology from Cal Poly Pomona and later, a nursing degree from a private college. I now work at local hospital as a charge nurse on a surgical and cardiac floor. My days off consist of Ava and I taking our pup, Betty for walks, finding a new park to go on play dates at, or going to the gym and playing in the kids’ club.

Being a mom has taught me everything. It’s taught me about unconditional love, patience, strength, and gratitude.

Jules is one of the most passionate, caring, and kindhearted people I have ever met. She will drop whatever she is doing to help family or friends with whatever they need, no matter how big or small it is. Jules is the person that I always want on my side. Not only because she is my best friend, but because she is fiercely loyal and protective of her family and friends. She is an amazing mother to Ava, and seeing the love, care and compassion she gives to her is awe inspiring! Whether it is making sure we are eating healthy meals, going to a park to play, or taking Ava to dance class, Jules puts care and compassion into everything she does. She is the glue that holds our family together, and is the best wife, partner, and mother I have ever seen.

I grew up outside of Washington DC and was lucky enough to have parents who supported all of my dreams and ambitions. Whether it was picking up musical instruments or helping to open my traveling DJ company, my parents were the best! I went to school at Indiana University and am now a literary manager for Film and TV writers, where I help develop their ideas, and guide them through their careers. My schedule is fairly flexible which means I get to pick up Ava from school and see her enjoy all of her extracurricular activities! I still play bass, and love golf! But most importantly, I cannot wait to continue sharing my passions and hobbies with our children.

Matt is the kindest man I have ever met. He is always making me laugh and cracking jokes (even if they aren’t that funny). While he has a very strong work ethic, he always puts Ava first and is the best and most involved Dad that I’ve ever met. He wakes up and changes diapers and gives bottles at all hours of the night if needed. I come home from work and the two of them are dancing while making dinner. He has not missed one of Ava’s soccer practices or events at school. He makes our family a priority. There is nothing more important to him than making the people he loves happy. He’s an incredible husband and father.

Ava is our spunky little girl that lights up our lives and the lives of everyone around her. She was adopted from birth in 2021 in Alabama and we fell in love instantly. Ava loves to laugh, dance, and make funny faces. She loves running around the playground, making new friends, and throwing the ball for Betty. She has a huge heart and an infectious smile and we know she will make the best big sister!

We live about 10 minutes from the beach and love spending our summers with our toes in the sand! We meet our family and friends each weekend where there are swings and slides for the kids, and the adults can play cornhole, paddleball, or just relax!

We live in Southern California, so even when the weather isn’t perfect, we like to spend as much time as possible outside, especially at Ava’s favorite parks. This is a great dog community, so Betty is usually able to tag along and Ava and her friends love to play fetch with her.

Each night we have dinner together where we talk about our day. We take turns telling each other what our best and worst parts of the day were, and connect as a family. Matt has become quite the chef and we love experimenting with new recipes and trying new dishes! Ava is always there to lend a helping hand!

We love to stay active and keep a healthy lifestyle. Jules loves going to the gym while Ava enjoys the kids club. Matt loves to golf and take Betty on walks. Ava just started soccer and has ballet and jazz class weekly. We love our family time together on the weekend no matter what we do, and we can’t wait to include your child in our weekend fun.

We love to travel as a family. Jules was raised in a family where travel was a huge priority, and when we first started dating Matt clearly agreed.

We take mini family weekend trips to Carpinteria (where we got married) and trips back East to see Matt’s family. Ava has already been to France and Spain with Ireland and Hawaii in the near future. Your child will certainly earn some stamps on their passport.

We have a beautiful multilevel sunny, townhome with the most amazing neighbors you could ask for. There are 18 units and between all the homes there are 21 kids who range from 5 months to 18 years, so your child will always have someone to play with. Weekends and most holidays all the younger kids meet outside to run and play while the parents get together around the firepit to chit chat. It truly is a dream neighborhood with great schools and an amazing atmosphere.

We are just a short 10 minutes to the beach and famous pier where there are many great things to do. Our town puts on family concerts in the local parks and movies on the sand, and we get to experience all of this while being less than 20 miles from the art and culture of Los Angeles. Needless to say, there is always something fun going on nearby.

Betty is our 5-year-old rescued spaniel mix. She is especially gentle and patient with Ava. She loves to snuggle, play on the beach, and loves playing catch in the park!

Terry is a 9-year-old cat that was rescued from a parking lot in downtown Los Angeles. She is fiercely independent, (just like all cats), but love’s a good snuggle and belly rub when no one else is looking! She has taken a particular liking to Ava and loves a nice gentle pet from her!

Jules’ family lives within 5 miles of each other and on most weekends we spend time together. Our nieces play sports on the weekends and Ava is also in their same soccer league on Saturday mornings. Their cheering section is full of love and loudness. Ava is best friends with her two cousins, they love to play with their dolls, build sandcastles at the beach, and enjoy the occasional slumber party. Jules’ parents have been married for over 40 years and still hold hands on walks. Jules’ mother was adopted as an infant in Ireland and speaks so highly of her birth mother’s courageous act of placing her for adoption.

Matt’s mom and dad have been married for 41 years and fly West to spend time with us as often as possible. There is always a joint family get together when they come to visit filled with food, games, and lots of laughter. Matt’s sister is a short drive away so Ava gets to spend time with both sides of her family frequently.

Your child will be surrounded by unconditional love and laughter growing up with family close by.
