Warm greetings! We are Lori & Adrian along with our son, Luke, from Newbury Park, California. We understand this is an incredibly hard time for you as you are faced with a difficult choice. We know that you love your child and have deep respect for you and the decisions you will be making. We look forward to getting to know you and supporting you during this journey. Thank you for taking the time to get to know our family.
Dear Birth Mother
Why Adoption
After being blessed with our son Luke, we knew we wanted to expand our family even more. We tried to get pregnant again naturally and then tried IVF but were unsuccessful. We wish to adopt because we have not been able to shake this undeniable feeling that there’s a baby out there that will make our family complete. We cannot wait to open our home and share all our love with a new little one - and “big brother to be” Luke couldn’t be more excited. Having another child will be a gift and a blessing to our family.
Our Story
We met online February 2013. We knew on our first date there was something special between us. After chatting for hours, we were ushered out of the restaurant because they were closing. After dating for more than 2 years, we got engaged while visiting Ireland on vacation. The next year, we went back to Ireland with 23 of our closest friends and family and had a magical wedding ceremony in an amazing castle. It was truly like a fairy tale! Our relationship has only grown stronger over the years. We love spending time together and can find humor in almost every situation. We also support and encourage each other through life’s ups and downs. After Luke was born, it started a new chapter for us as parents. We deeply enjoy family life with lots of adventures and laughs. About Lori
I was born and raised just outside of Boston with my parents and older sister. We were very close to my grandparents (who lived upstairs). Together with my uncles and extended family, we celebrated the holidays and frequently spent our vacations together in Cape Cod. In 2001, I moved to Los Angeles and spent the next 21 years working in television. I am now a happy stay at home wife and mother. I am a huge music lover. There is always music playing in our house and you will often find me singing and dancing around like no one's watching. I also love to cook and experiment with new recipes. I enjoy watching the Food Network and my guilty pleasure is reality cooking competitions - my favorite is "Beat Bobby Flay". Luke likes to watch it with me and even cheers when Bobby wins!

I may be biased here but Lori is a wonderful and caring mother and wife. From running our house like a well oiled machine, to planning great vacations and adventures, Lori puts her heart and soul into enriching our lives every day. Her nurturing spirit is apparent by the way she takes care of not just us but anyone who enters our home. She loves to cook and is happy to make everyone’s favorite meals (Luke loves mom’s grilled cheese). However, her favorite pastime is just a good cuddle with Luke while watching one of his favorite shows. Lori has a dry sense of humor drizzled with a little bit of sass. It's one of the reasons we have so much fun as a family. Often, I'll catch her and Luke whispering and then I'm surprised by a tickle attack! Then we all run around the house trying to tickle each other. Lori approaches life with love and humor. I know in my heart she will share all her love and laughter with our new little one.
About Adrian
I was born and raised in an Italian family, the third of four kids. As the son of two educators, learning became a large part of my life. I love reading (mostly non-fiction) and listening to podcasts. After earning my Masters Degree studying film, I eventually landed my dream job as an editor at Universal Studios. I am able to work from home half of the time which gives me great flexibility and time to spend with my family, especially Luke. Watching him grow warms my heart every day. Away from work, I like to play tennis and golf, and visit with good friends. But most of my free time is filled with hours of Lego construction, horseplay, teaching Luke sports, and coaching his soccer team. And every night I read to him his favorite bedtime stories (mostly Scooby-Doo). I enjoy every minute and take every opportunity to be at home with my family.
Adrian's Fun Facts
- Likes to tell ‘dad’ jokes and will say anything to get a laugh.
- Enjoys cartoons and animation.
- Loves a good cappuccino, or two, or three.
- Favorite TV show is Psych!
- Adrian and Luke share the same middle name, Augustine, after Adrian’s grandfather.
- Traveled to Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji on a surfing trip for 3 months after college.
- Worked as a golf caddy at a county club.
- Was once lucky enough to hold the Stanley Cup.
Adrian, Written by Lori
I know it’s cliche to say but Adrian isn’t just my husband, he is my best friend - and an all-around great guy! He is kind and giving, smart and funny (always the jokester), patient and loving. He is a great partner and friend to all. He always makes family a priority and is the absolute best Dad. It is heartwarming to see how much Luke loves and looks up to his Dad. Adrian enjoys reading and stays up on current events. He likes to constantly learn new things. I am often surprised by random facts he knows about a variety of subjects. One of his hobbies is fixing up our house. When something comes up that he doesn’t know how to do, he’ll watch YouTube videos and figure it out. He always gets the job done! Most of all, Adrian relishes family life and I know our new baby will get all the love and devotion that he has to give.
Hobbies and Interests
We love to travel! From Europe to local destinations, it’s fun to experience new things and meet new people. Our last big family trip was to Hawaii when Luke was a baby. Recently, our travels have been more local, “beaching it” in Santa Barbara so Luke can splash around and play in the sand or spending a weekend in San Diego having fun at Legoland. We love to do things as a family. Adrian is an avid tennis player and Luke is already following in his footsteps - it's fun watching them play. Luke also enjoys soccer and plays in a local league which Adrian coaches for the 2nd year in a row - and Lori is always there cheering during the weekly games and of course providing much needed snacks.
Our Community
Near home, we love touring museums (the one with dinosaurs is Luke's favorite), going to the circus, bowling, miniature golf and visiting local farms and fairs. We volunteer at Luke's school during their annual fall festival which is well known as a fun family event in the community. Also, we regularly go to many of the local parks where Luke enjoys riding his bike, climbing and going on the swings. We can't wait to share all of this with our new baby!
Our Home
We live in Newbury Park, California, a small community in Ventura County, north of Los Angeles. We moved here two years ago from Los Angeles because it is such a serene and safe place to raise a family with great schools and smiling neighbors. We love it here! Our neighborhood is even known for its great Halloween displays which we've enjoyed every year with family friends and their children. Luke looks forward to it. This year he dressed up as a Ghostbuster! Our home is filled with love and laughter. We spend time together watching movies (Kung Fu Panda and Despicable Me are current favorites), playing games, reading and doing art and science projects. We love to host backyard barbecues and parties with friends, family, and their kiddos. Many of our weekends are spent at home having Nerf battles and water balloon fights in the backyard or turning our entire living room into a giant fort using every available cushion, pillow and blanket in sight. The kids (and parents) have a blast and we know our new little one will as well!
Meet Luke
Luke is 6 years old. He is a happy and fun loving kid who is smart, silly, curious and also a great cuddler. He loves dinosaurs, Legos, reading, drawing, and making tracks for his Hot Wheels. He's an active kiddo with sports, playing at the park and swimming. Luke loves school and always takes younger kids under his wing. He is very excited to share so many things with his new baby brother or sister!
Our Loved Ones
We have been blessed to have strong family ties and friends nearby. Holidays are a big deal to us and each year we get together to celebrate. Family plus friends. All are welcome! It's been great the last couple of years to be able to have the big family holidays in our new house - last year we hosted 24 people on Christmas Eve. It was lively and fun! Everyone dotes over Luke and we know they’ll shower our new baby with just as much love. Adrian was raised in Los Angeles and most of his family lives here still - including his mom, siblings, cousins and more second cousins than he can count (seriously, we don’t actually know the number). Lori’s family is on the east coast, but her sister and dad regularly send Luke gifts such as books and games. He is always thrilled to receive a package from Auntie Jodie or a card from Grandpa. Even though we don’t see them in person as often as we’d like, we talk about them and FaceTime regularly to keep that connection.
Thoughts on Parenting
We believe it’s important for children to feel safe, loved, and supported. We emphasize the importance of family and community as well as teaching proper morals and values. We think a strong education is important but it needs to be balanced with hobbies and fun. We have introduced Luke to a variety of sports and activities because we want to see where his interests lie. We will continue to do this for our new baby as we know every child is different and we want to nurture them in every way possible. Above all, we hope to encourage learning and trying new things without the fear of failing - to boldly face the challenge and follow their passion. We want to help them become kind, confident and strong individuals.
In Closing
Thank you for considering us as your child's adoptive parents. No matter your decision, we know you will make the right choice for you and your child. We would be honored and blessed if you choose us to raise your baby. As adoptive parents, we promise to always love, cherish, and protect your baby. We will provide a safe, nurturing, and happy home. It has been our greatest joy raising Luke and we cannot wait to grow our family and share our love with our new little one. We wish you the very best!
