Hello! So nice to "meet" you. We are Brian and Luke from University Place, Washington. We appreciate you taking the time to get to know us. We don’t pretend to understand the complex decision you are considering, but we hope that you will feel comfort in learning about who we are and why we cannot wait to be adoptive parents. We want to start by expressing our admiration for your strength and the love you have for your child. While we can never truly understand the weight of your choice, please know that our commitment to you will be to honor your child. We will do this by giving ourselves entirely to them in body, mind, and spirit. Each of our decisions will come at what is best for their growth. We want them to understand their roots and would be honored should you choose to share any pieces of yourself so that they know where they come from, be that letters, videos, or other forms of communication.

As a couple, we have been together for eight years, married for three, and are still very much in love. We are ready and eager to become parents. As a same sex couple, we specifically chose adoption as the path to grow our family. We understand there are other avenues we could pursue; however, we have the means and desire to provide your child with a loving and nurturing home. Our commitment to your child is to provide them with an environment filled with laughter, encouragement, structure, and unlimited opportunities to thrive.

We met in 2015 on a dating app. From our very first conversation we knew there was something extraordinary about each other. Our first date was spent over pizza and watching The Princess Bride. Four years later we were engaged and then married in April of 2020. It was a modest occasion in Brian’s parent’s backyard. Two years later we hosted a vow renewal in April 2022 and had the celebration we dreamed of with all of our friends and family there. One of the greatest strengths of our relationship is communication. We do not like to go to bed at night with any unresolved feelings or issues. If there is a problem, we address it head on rather than letting anything build. We understand that difficulties are a part of life, and we strive to be there for each other unconditionally. Another thing we value is the relationships we have with our family and friends. They are our pillars of support and love. Whether it’s dinner at our home, yearly barbecues, or a festive celebration, we embrace every opportunity to create lasting memories with our loved ones. As we eagerly anticipate expanding our family through adoption, we want you to know that your child will be surrounded by the love and warmth of our tight-knit circle.

The choice to adopt is a deeply meaningful decision for us. Together, we realized that adoption was the path we are meant to take. We have thoughtfully considered the responsibilities and joys that come with raising a child, and we are ready to provide a stable and nurturing family. We wholeheartedly embrace this opportunity to provide a loving home. We have a well-thought-out plan for childcare. Both of us have three months of parental leave from our jobs, as well as personal time off to use. We also have a supportive network of close family members, and we are confident that we will be able to provide the necessary care and attention in their early stages of life. We are prepared to dedicate ourselves to being the best parents we can be, ensuring that your child feels safe, loved, and cherished every step of the way. We believe in encouraging their individuality, nurturing their passions, and teaching them the values of kindness, respect, and empathy. We hope to provide them with the necessary structure, education, and love to enable them to follow whatever dreams they wish to pursue.

I was born and raised in Washington. Growing up, I had a natural curiosity and love for learning. I was drawn to subjects in school that encouraged critical thinking and offered insights into how the world works. In high school, I had an incredible group of nerdy friends who shared similar interests. Amazingly, these friendships have stood the test of time. Following high school, I chose a degree in computer engineering, which was a natural fit. I also pursued a minor in Japanese language, recognizing the value of embracing cultural diversity. I now have a fulfilling career in IT, leading teams to help them make informed and impactful decisions. I love and am passionate about the work that I do. I am most excited about teaching our future child about how things work, and encouraging their curiosity for themselves and the world. I cannot wait to read books together that will enrich their minds and create a sense of wonder and amazement for what life has to offer!

I grew up in Washington where my parents instilled in me a love of the outdoors and the Pacific Northwest. I have fond memories of summers spent camping in the forests and time on the beach. My family shares a passion for skiing in the winter and my father taught me how to ski when I was just a toddler. Skiing has become a big part of my life that I was able to share with Luke. We continue to spend winter weekends at my parents’ cabin in the mountains. The cabin feels like a second home to us and we love spending time there with my family and friends. I work as a transportation analyst. It presents me with complex problems to solve, requiring me to think creatively and outside the box. During my free time, I find joy in working on our house, gardening, and 3D printing. Becoming a parent has always been my dream and I am looking forward to nurturing and sharing my love and support with our future child. The thought of guiding a young life, witnessing their growth and development, and creating a loving and supportive environment excites me. Parenthood is a role I long to embrace, and I am eager to embark on this incredible journey.

Our three-bedroom split-level house provides plenty of room for our growing family. The living space is located upstairs and a large recreation room occupies the downstairs. The open layout within our home is perfect for a little one learning to crawl and take their first steps. Additionally, we have a spacious backyard – great for outdoor activities like hosting barbecues with friends and family, tending to a garden, and spending time relaxing. During quiet evenings at home, we often have friendly competition playing board games or enjoy watching movies together. These moments are important, as they build a deep sense of closeness within our family.

Our neighborhood is a friendly and closeknit community, a perfect place for children to grow up in! Nearby, there are several parks and multiple schools within a five-mile radius. Our local library, just blocks away, provides tons of resources and programs for kids. Additionally, our city hosts numerous family-oriented events throughout the year, such as concerts and movies in the park, and festive celebrations like Duck Daze (a duck-themed parade). Our diverse and vibrant community embraces inclusivity, providing a supportive environment for everyone.

Our weekends are a well-rounded mix of adventures, quality time with loved ones, relaxation, and the excitement of travel. In the winter, our focus shifts to the mountains, where skiing and snowshoeing become our preferred activities. As the weather warms up we become more laid-back and mellow. During the spring and summertime, we enjoy walks along the waterfront, going for hikes in the mountains, visits to the local farmers market, and traveling. Our favorite pastimes include playing board games, video games, and engaging in home improvement projects. We prioritize spending time with family and friends, often hosting dinner parties and socializing to strengthen our bonds. Additionally, we find joy in quieter moments, whether it’s watching TV shows or movies or immersing ourselves in a good book.

Luke's family: I am the youngest of four with two brothers and one sister. My sister has a son and a daughter, and I’ve watched my nephew grow up from being a tiny little baby to getting married. My niece and nephew bring us so much joy and remind us how much we look forward to growing our family through adoption. I’m grateful that the majority of my family lives in the Pacific Northwest and will be involved in our future child’s life. My mother even lives in the same city as Brian and I and she plays such an active role in our lives.

Brian's family: I have a close-knit relationship with my family. Luke and I are fortunate to live just a few minutes from my parent’s home where we frequently enjoy family dinners and game nights. I have an older brother who lives in Florida with his wife, stepdaughter, and son. My parents, as well as my extended family, are thrilled about the prospect of a new addition to our family.
