Hello! We are Lesleigh and Nik from Mentone, California. First and foremost, thank you so very much for taking the time to view our profile and consider us as potential parents for your child. We have been together for almost 16 years, since our senior year of high school in 2007, and we got married in 2013. We currently have two dogs and six cats, we are constantly rescuing. We cannot wait to tell you more about us.
Dear Birth Mother...
Why Adoption
We are so excited to be a part of this process as we have always wanted to adopt. We are unable to have children due to infertility; however, adoption was always a plan for us and will certainly not change the amount of love and dedication we plan to shower upon our future child.
Thoughts on Parenting
We have both always dreamt of being parents, being able to love a small person so unconditionally. We cannot wait to show them Disney, Harry Potter, Star Wars and so much more. We cannot wait to see the adorable interactions between our future child and our pets, and to teach your child how precious animals are. Lesleigh’s mom is already trying to convince her dad to move closer so that they can spend as much quality time with the baby as possible. We promise that your child will always be our number one priority. That we will love them no matter what, that they will never want or need for anything. That they will have the biggest cheerleaders and advocates in their corner, and that we will protect them from this world. Raising your child will be our greatest honor and accomplishment.
Our Story
We met in our sophomore year of high school in San Diego. We were friends for the first year and began dating in our senior year where we went to prom together. Lesleigh likes to joke that Nik followed her home from school like a lost puppy (to be fair, he did walk her home 2 miles in the opposite direction of his own home). We spent the next 6 years together in San Diego before moving to Mentone, California and getting married in 2013. We share many similar interests and complement each other in many ways. Lesleigh is loud and outgoing, while Nik is quiet and reserved. We both love to rescue animals, work together on home projects and do art.
A Deeper Dive into Our Love Story
We began dating on April 25, 2007. Three years later, on April 25, 2010, we spent our anniversary at Sea World San Diego. While there, we found out that it was World Penguin Day. Lesleigh’s favorite animal is the penguin. So, when we got married, we had to keep the same anniversary date. That meant, obviously, that our wedding was penguin themed. Our colors were black and white, with ice blue accents. Our wedding cake was an iceberg with a penguin bride and groom, we even made the topper ourselves.
Meet Lesleigh, by Lesleigh
I am an Office Manager and Legal Assistant at a Personal Injury Law Firm, helping injured people get the medical treatment they need as well as fighting goliath insurance companies to ensure that those medical treatments are paid for. I am currently back in school working towards my paralegal certificate. I have an associate’s degree in Social & Behavioral Sciences, my focus was psychology, especially as it relates to the growth and development of children.
I have always wanted to be a mother, and always envisioned myself as one during my childhood. I’ve been picking out baby names since the sixth grade. I always hoped to have 2 biological children and 2 adopted children. At 29, the damage from endometriosis resulted in me having a complete hysterectomy. But, as adoption was always a goal, here we are. I can’t wait to be a mother.
More About Lesleigh, by Nik
Lesleigh has always been the fire to my ice. Where I would typically be happy to stay home and do personal activities or rewatching a show for the 100th time, Lesleigh gets me out and about, doing activities or going on shopping trips. She is highly creative and comes up with projects to put my skills into use, whether it be designing a new table, or building a fireplace. Lesleigh has wanted children for many years and would make a great mother given her unending acceptance of the varied ways people are, and the fire she puts into ensuring the rights and wishes of those around her are upheld. This fire she has till now poured into our fur-children ensuring they remain happy and healthy, as well as making sure we have the most ideal life possible together. Lesleigh is strong willed but knows when to ask for help and while she rarely knows what she wants for dinner, she knows every aspect of the life she wants to give to the children we wish to have.
Fun Facts About Lesleigh

- Fun Fact: I have kissed a beluga whale, it was crazy salty

I currently work as a Safety Manager for Amazon, where I help implement projects to improve the safety of the warehouse and work areas of my associates. I am the youngest person in my region to achieve this role and am looking forward to many new opportunities in this space. While I have learned many new skills in this role I am always looking for new things to learn and am pursuing additional trainings and certifications.
Outside of work, I consider myself a jack of all trades as I can do just about everything, from repair a car, or build a table, to 3D Model a replacement part and bake a loaf of banana bread. For me, being a parent is equal parts a terrifying and joyous thought. I look forward to experiencing all the trials and tribulations as well as the celebrations and successes.
More About Nik, by Lesleigh
Nik is my ideal husband. We met when I was 15 and we started dating when I was 17, going to prom only a few short weeks after we started dating. Nik has seen me through my battles with endometriosis and fibromyalgia and never once wavered. He is always supportive and has taken on the vast majority of the household tasks that would further aggravate my fibromyalgia. Nik will make an amazing father. He is patient and kind. He is the calm to my ADHD. The way he looks at babies when we are out running errands makes it clear that he desperately needs to be a father. He is amazing with our cats and dogs. I really found a winner with him and can’t imagine what life would be like without his quiet confidence near me. Anything I want to do, Nik is game. He single handedly fixed up our house, which I designed, and helped some with. I give Nik a design, and Nik implements it. I can’t wait for him to help me make a gorgeous nursery for our future child.
Fun Facts About Nik
- I am building a 1/2 scale R2D2. This will be simple AI driven robot which will be able to roam the house and interact with people.
- I am a self taught wood worker and mechanic. Any time I want to make or fix something I learn how to do it by looking up tutorials on the internet/YouTube.
- I like art, like drawing and sculpting, as well technical things, like designing and making parts for my various works in progress, I am never very far from a sketchbook and pencil. But I also enjoy cooking and baking.
- Favorite Authors: include Dean Koontz, Terry Goodkind, and Dan Brown.
- I have been bitten by a penguin!

Our Hobbies & Interests
- We love to fix up our home. Lesleigh is the dreamer and designer and Nik is the engineer and constructor.
- We love to play with our fur babies, six cats and two dogs. We are both active in the rescue scene, hence the eight animals. We have rescued and adopted out, adopted from rescues ourselves, rescued from the streets into our home, and donate to local rescues regularly. The welfare and fair treatment of animals have always been a passion of ours.
- We love to play board games (we have a huge collection)
- Our family values include love, acceptance, and kindness above all else
- On the weekends, when we’re not running errands or doing some project or another, we really just like to veg out on the couch with the dogs and cats. Nik loves to cook and play with his 3D printer, Lesleigh loves to color and read. Together, we have made quite a hobby of making shadowboxes for friends and family.
- Nik is a huge Star Wars and Marvel fan, Lesleigh is way into Harry Potter and Disney. We really just can’t wait to welcome a baby into our lives and share with them our passions and fandoms.
- We are both huge advocates for the LGBTQIA+, Black, indigenous and people of color and women’s rights. We donate to those causes regularly and we have every intention of raising our future child in a home that believes love is love, trans rights are human rights, women’s rights are human rights, black lives matter and no person is illegal. We will love our future child regardless of race, gender or sexuality. We will be our future child’s best and most fierce supporters and allies.
Our Bucket List
For our bucket list we primarily want to travel. Lesleigh wants to travel to France to visit the Musee d’Orsay, an art museum that focuses on mostly French impressionist artists, and to India to volunteer at an elephant rescue. Nik also wants to travel, but to Japan to see and visit some of the shrines and learn more about the history and culture.
Our Home & Community
We live in Mentone, California, a small community in San Bernardino County, located right next to Redlands. We have family located about two hours away in San Diego. We live in a three bedroom, two bathroom home in a nice gated community. We love to make updates to our home. In 2019 we remodeled the entire home with new paint, new flooring, new furniture and decor. The home is distinctively our style. We have transformed one of the bedrooms into an office and pet room. We currently have a guest room that we cannot wait to transform into the perfect, classic Winnie-the-pooh nursery. Lesleigh loves interior design, she was accepted into the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising to study interior design, but chose to study psychology instead. Nik loves to implement Lesleigh’s designs. We have several local parks and recreation centers we can go to. We also have Disneyland, Universal Studios, Knott’s Berry Farm and Sea World San Diego within two hours of us.
Our Pets
We have had pets throughout our lives, from cats and dogs to hamsters, and fish. Currently we have 2 dogs: Celeste and Cosmos (who we adopted from local rescues), and 6 cats: Nova, Kyle (who walked into the house one day and decided to stay), Buck and Buzz (brothers we took in as feral kittens that we tried to adopt out, but couldn’t get socialized to anyone but us), and Starla and Astra (sisters who were found as kittens by Nik’s boss and we adopted). We have rescued several stray cats and adopted them out to great homes. We also routinely donate to local shelters and individuals who try to care for animals like we do.
Our Loved Ones
Lesleigh’s mom, dad, and brother are all living in San Diego. Lesleigh’s mom and dad, Dawn and Keith, were married in 1989, the same year Lesleigh was born, and are still married! Nik’s mom, sister, brother-in-law, nephew, and brother are all in San Diego as well. Nik’s dad, Mark, and step-mom, Claudia, are living in Las Vegas. We love going to San Diego to see our families and Lesleigh’s mom is trying to convince her dad to move closer to us to be near their future grandchild, their first. Lesleigh talks to her mom almost daily, they are best friends. When we visit Lesleigh’s family it is usually with our dogs, their grand-pups, in tow.
In addition, we have a small group of friends local to us who cannot wait to become aunts and uncles. Future-Aunt Veronica nearly cried when she heard we were finally going to be going through the adoption process, it has been a long time coming. Future-Aunt Danaya is thrilled there will be a little one to dote on. In addition, our pups cannot wait to have another human to worship, while our cats cannot wait to have another human to worship them.
In Closing
We understand how scary this process must be for you and the concern you have for your baby. We want you to know that we understand and appreciate that concern, and we promise to live up to your expectations, no matter how high. We cannot thank you enough for your consideration of our family for your precious little one. If you do select our family for your little one, we would love to keep you informed about your baby’s life and growth, if you are open to it. If we are not the family you select, just know that we hope your little one finds their perfect home.
