Hello and welcome! We are Patty and Ben from Central Massachusetts. We look forward to getting to know you and your story! We understand how difficult of a decision this was to make and want to express our gratitude for letting us be a part of your adoption journey. We are two people who have an immense love for animals, our family, and of course each other. We love to laugh and have fun whenever we are together. These moments help us make new happy memories and get us through the difficult days that everyone has. Above all, we love and support each other unconditionally and will do the same for your child. We are so excited to be adopting! Patty has known that she wanted to adopt since age 16. She has never wanted biological children. Her grandmother adopted 2 children in the 1950’s and that planted the seed about adoption. She cannot wait to follow in her footsteps. Ben has never wanted biological children either. When we found out that we had this in common, we knew it was a perfect match. We know that there are so many children that need a loving home, and we cannot wait to provide that to our future child! We promise to raise our future child so that he or she can always feel our never ending support & love.

We met on Match.com in 2021. Our first date did not go as planned. It was canceled when Patty’s grandfather, who was her best friend, passed away on that day. Something compelled Patty to push her immense grief aside and to go out for pizza with Ben the next day. Her vulnerability about her grandfather’s passing made Ben open up quicker than he normally does. We quickly learned how to navigate illnesses, family tragedies, and arguments – which has only made us stronger as a couple. The serious moments have shown us how our relationship stands against all of life’s trials. Through it all, we love to laugh together. We have the most fun doing anything together. The simple moments such as watching TV, going for a walk, playing with our foster kittens, spending time with family, or cuddling with our pets are the best of all.

I love helping others. It has been my calling since I was a child. Within the last 6 years, I have focused my attention on stray or abandoned animals – volunteering at animal shelters and fostering kittens. My friends have described me as incredibly thoughtful, considerate, and caring. I am the person who would never be late to any event, big or small...except if a person or animal needed my help. I am known to my friends and family as the top person they would go to if they need help with anything – a babysitter, a confidant, help in an emergency, a surrogate 2nd parent for a period of time. No matter the situation, I am immensely proud of the person that I am and how I treat my friends and others. The empathy that I have for others has made me the person that I am today. This will directly translate into my life as a parent. My future child will never have to question if mom (or dad) loves them or supports them. We will make sure that our child knows that we will be there for them no matter what.

Patty is the most kind hearted and generous person I know. I knew within three months of meeting her that I wanted to marry her. More than anyone else, she makes me smile, laugh and feel better when I’m having a rough day. I knew she was the person for me after my grandma, who was my best friend, told me Patty was “just right for me” upon meeting her. Patty is very easy to open up to and this effect spreads to everyone around her. People instinctively feel safe when talking to her and feel comfortable opening up to her emotionally, all without Patty even trying. She has always loved children and she absolutely adores all of our nieces and nephews and lights up when she is with them. The kids are always happy to see Auntie Patty and to spend time with her. Patty has a very generous heart and a lot of love to share with those around her, including our future child. She is very excited to have a child of our own to love and I know she will be amazing at being a mom!

While I am a fun loving person who loves to joke around and laugh with his loved ones, more than that I am a kind, loving, and tender person. My friends and Patty joke and call me a big softie. I am a kind hearted, generous and loving person who loves to help others and make other people smile. In the past, I have donated a large amount of food to the local homeless shelter with my family for Christmas, delivered food to those in need while in college and have volunteered at an urban farm that grows food for a women’s shelter. I take pride in being a good listener and confidant for my friends and family and providing the support they need. Much like Patty, I have found that people have a natural tendency to open up to me and ask me for advice. I also have an adventurous side as I have skydived, been a certified scuba diver, driven cars around a race track and traveled extensively outside the country.

Ben has such a soft spot in his heart for children. I have watched him evolve as he interacts with our nieces and nephews from the scared adult feeding babies for the first time to the fun uncle coloring with the kids. Seeing him with all of them is so beautiful to witness. They love “Uncle Ben” and enjoy spending time with him. I cannot wait to see him become a father. He has such a genuine personality and fun-loving spirit. I am a very organized and structured person, while Ben is more “go with the flow”. I love that he keeps me (or tries to keep me!) more relaxed and balances out my type A personality. He makes me laugh until I cry and is my best friend. When I am stressed or upset about something, he always helps me resolve my problems and supports my decisions, which is a difficult task for anyone. He is the best person I know and will be an amazing parent. He will never let our child go a day without knowing they are loved.

Patty: Going for a walk in the woods in the crisp fall air, spending time with my chosen family at home laughing and relaxing, and closing the day with tacos and cake.

Ben: Sleeping in a little bit and a big breakfast of eggs, bacon and tater tots followed up by an afternoon spent at the beach. After that, Patty and I would go out for a nice dinner and then head home to relax and watch TV with our cats.

We currently live in Central Massachusetts. We bought our home in February 2024 and fell in love with our neighborhood. Our backyard overlooks a pond and is next to conservation land. We have a beautiful view of the town from our back porch, including the fireworks every summer and miles of changing leaves in the fall! We have wonderful neighbors who have been welcoming to us since day one. The couple across the street are also adopting so it has been great going through this journey at the same time as them. There are at least 20 kids on our street alone and it is known for the neighborhood where they often play games outside together. We get hundreds of trick or treaters each year, most of them our neighbors! The high school, middle school, and elementary schools are all within two miles from our house so there are plenty of parks or playgrounds to visit nearby! There is also a skating rink, basketball court, baseball field and football field just down the road! The city of Worcester is a short 5-10 minute drive from us and there are lots of fun activities to do there. We are very blessed to live in such a great town and cannot wait to share it with our little one!

We live only 15 minutes from Patty's parents, aunts, and uncles. We frequently spend time with them at their houses on the lake or at our house. Patty’s sister just moved to Rhode Island, but is a short one hour away so we see her often as well. In the summer, most of Patty’s family have cookouts at least once a month to spend time together. The rest of the year, we see Patty’s parents very often, a few times a month at minimum. Patty’s parents cannot wait to be grandparents! They talk about it very often! Also, many of Patty’s best friends live close by and we spend time with them and their children (our nieces and nephews) as much as we can.

Ben's parents live nearby in Rhode Island. We enjoy spending time with them, especially for holidays and other celebrations! They are excited to have a grandchild close by! Ben’s sister, brother-in law, and our niece and nephew (5 and 2) live in Minnesota. We wish we could see them more often, but we do see them at least once or twice a year! We enjoy spending time with them going to the park, visiting the zoo, coloring, and whatever else they want to do! Our niece helped to name our most recent group of foster kittens! Although they live far away, we like to include them in as much of our day to day lives as we can. All of our family and chosen family are so excited to become a part of our future child’s life!

We cannot wait to become parents. We have dreamed about having a family of our own and are excited to experience life with them. We look forward to helping our child to grow. We cannot wait to show them how to be strong, kind, humble, forgiving, independent, and responsible. There will be many highs and lows along the way, and we will help our child to understand that we are there for them through it all. Throughout our lives, we have seen many different types of parenting styles. We both will be very hands-on in our child’s life, but understand that we have to give him or her the opportunity to learn and make mistakes for themselves (as hard as it will be for us to see). We cannot wait for the day to see our child discover their life passion and promise to give them the space and courage to do so. We promise to love our baby unconditionally, to give them never ending support, to protect them, and to provide a safe and secure home.
