Greetings! We are Ryan & Amanda from Colorado, and we are deeply appreciative to share a little bit of who we are and hope to join you on this journey. We know this is a huge decision and we appreciate you taking the time to learn more about us, We admire your strength, and we pray that you find peace and comfort in your heart throughout this journey. If you decide to choose us, just know your child will be so loved by our enormous family! They will be part of a loving home, filled with laughter, adventure, and support. We vow to commit ourselves to your child and to give them our best everyday.

We are Ryan & Amanda. We have been married for 4 years and live in the great state called Colorado. The mountain landscape is pretty surreal… we get to see it whenever we drive. Adoption is such a beautiful picture of love extending beyond boundaries and it takes such courage to walk in. We are honored that you would consider us to be part of your adoption story. We first talked about adoption early on in our relationship, so this is something near to our hearts. After two years of trying, we learned that Ryan struggled with male infertility. Through adoption, we hope to build a family that would be full of adventure, laughter, and joyous memories. We value having an open adoption and making sure we also have a relationship with you and your family.

Both originally from Virginia, we moved across the country to Denver, Colorado, to help start a church. We started dating in 2019, when Ryan asked Amanda to join the music team at church (it was just us two!). By May, we were engaged, and on November 7, 2020, in the midst of a pandemic, we got married! Together, we enjoy the outdoors, cultural festivals, and food spots.

When I first met Amanda, I was taken back by her free-spirit and compassion. She loves boldly and serves selflessly. She often inspires me to love people well and she is so smart! She manages our budget, plans our international travels, and oversees a whole classroom of kiddos throughout the week. I’m ecstatic for Amanda to be a mom.

Amanda has a master’s degree in education and has been teaching for 8 years. She’s an incredible teacher, currently teaching first grade. Ask her student’s parents and her teammates; she’s quite passionate about her job and her classroom of “young scholars” as she calls them.

Ryan is a lovable goofball who has the most expressive faces. He has a heart for others, wanting people to feel included and is a listening ear to those who need it. He loves food whether he’s cooking it or trying out a new restaurant. He keeps me on my toes with jokes, and I know he’s been preparing his arsenal of dad jokes.

Ryan has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and has been working on staff at a Christian, non-denominational church for 8 years. He’s passionate about learning people’s stories and serves in almost every capacity at church - music team, college ministry, photography, and pastoral care.

We live in Aurora, Colorado, about 20 minutes from downtown Denver. Our place has 3 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, and a mini outdoor patio, which Amanda and her dad landscaped. Our neighborhood is diverse, with an international market that’s walking distance. Amanda works at an elementary school down the street and there are a couple of parks in the area.

In October 2021, we purchased our first home. We saw the 3 bedrooms and though that this would be the perfect place to start a family. We have done home projects and have enjoyed making the place our own. We love hosting friends for dinner, eating pancakes in the backyard, and many game nights around the dining table. We are excited to watch our future children grow up in this house, playing cards or doing a puzzle together.

Family is important for both of us. Though they are in different states, we call each other often. While Amanda’s family is more adventurous and outdoorsy, Ryan’s family is laid-back and full of laughter. Amanda has a close relationship with her immediate family, whereas Ryan grew up with an enormous support system — full of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Even though our families are spread out across the country (both sets of parents are still in Virginia), we try to gather together once or twice a year around the holidays. Our families are overjoyed with excitement for us to adopt. Locally, our church family is thrilled for us as well. They have been with us throughout the whole adoption journey.

We are still creating traditions and rhythms of our own, especially as we grow as a family. During Thanksgiving, we typically stay local and have a huge dinner with friends. For Christmas, Amanda goes all out with the decoration and stocking stuffers. We do envision our kids to have relationships with each of our families, and yours as well.

We are so thrilled to become parents and create lasting memories with our future child, full of love and support. As a married couple, we established values based on the Bible verses, Romans 15:5-6. We desire a home that glorifies God in all that we do, endures with one another, encourages each other daily, pursues unity as a family, and laughs together. As parents, we will be able to provide unwavering support and guidance to our future child. We know every child is unique, and we are prepared to take on life’s challenges and curveballs. We cannot wait to start our journey as parents together. We have an extensive support system, so you can be assured that your child will be loved by many!
